Tottenham Hotspur legend Gary Lineker has taken to social networking site Twitter to give his reaction to the performance of Adnan Januzaj for Manchester United against Aston Villa away from home on Friday evening.
The 20-year-old attacker started the Premier League game at Villa Park and played until the hour mark, when he was replaced by Spain international midfielder Ander Herrera.
Januzaj, who can play as a winger, was deployed in a more central role by manager Louis van Gaal, and he excelled.
It was the Belgium international’s strike just before the half-hour mark which proved to be the difference between Villa and United at Villa Park.
The youngster also created one chance, had a pass accuracy of 81% and won three of the five dribbles he attempted against the Villans.
Former Tottenham, Everton and Leicester City striker Lineker was following the game, and he was impressed with the performance produced by Januzaj against Villa.
Good to see Januzaj play centrally. Always looked a bit trapped out wide.— Gary Lineker (@GaryLineker) August 14, 2015
