Confirmed: Southampton and Everton line-ups

Here is how Southampton and Everton will line up for this afternoon’s match:

Southampton starting XI: Stekelenburg, Cedric, Yoshida, Fonte, Targett, S. Davis, Wanyama, Tadic, Mane, Long, Pelle

Southampton subs: Gazzaniga, Rodriguez, Romeu, Martina, Ward-Prowse, Reed, Juanmi

Everton starting XI: Howard, Coleman, Stones, Galloway, Jagielka, McCarthy, Barkely, Barry, Kone, Cleverley, Lukaku

Everton subs: Robles, Mirallas, Naismith, Besic, Deulofeu, Osman, Browning

Southampton welcome Everton to St Mary’s this afternoon for the first Premier League match of the weekend.

Both sides drew 2-2 in their opening fixtures, with Southampton drawing with Newcastle United and Everton sharing the spoils with newly-promoted Watford.

Everton have a poor recent record away to Southampton, drawing two and losing four of their last six visits to the south coast club. The Toffees have also failed to score in their last three trips and manager Roberto Martinez will be desperate to ensure that does not happen again today.

Southampton are unbeaten in their last five home league games and that is a record their boss Ronald Koeman will want to maintain for as long as possible.

Anything can happen this afternoon but the importance of getting the first three points on the board means we could be in for a very exciting encounter from two clubs possessing plenty of talent.
