Clinton N'Jie speaks about Tottenham's ambitions and praises Hugo Lloris

The new Tottenham Hotspur player has been speaking after his big-money move.

New Tottenham Hotspur signing Clinton N’Jie has been speaking to the club’s official website following his move to White Hart Lane.

The 22-year-old has signed a five-year deal and becomes Tottenham’s fourth signing of the summer following the arrivals of Kieran Trippier, Kevin Wimmer and Toby Alderweireld.

He brings some much-needed additional attacking threat to the Spurs squad with manager Mauricio Pochettino currently relying on Harry Kane to score the vast majority of goals for his side.

N’Jie scored eight goals and provided nine assists for French side Lyon last season and he has the talent to become a very effective player for Tottenham in time.

He fits the mould of a Daniel Levy signing – a young, talented player with huge potential and considerable sell-on value – but Tottenham fans will no doubt be hoping he remains in North London for many years to come.

Speaking after his move N’Jie explained why he opted for Tottenham and referred to a former Lyon player that he is looking forward to being reunited with at White Hart Lane.

“The Premier League is one of the biggest leagues in the world,” N’Jie told “The club is ambitious and I’m ready to help the club achieve its aims.”

He then went on to speak about Tottenham goalkeeper Hugo Lloris who played 200 times for Lyon.

“He is a very nice person and a good captain,” the new Tottenham signing said of the French international. “He has his fighting spirit and his winning spirit and helps the young players. He is a good leader.”

Lloris had been tipped to leave Tottenham earlier this summer but in comments published by Sky Sports recently, manager Mauricio Pochettino said, “There are a lot of rumours (but) Hugo is very happy to be here. His commitment with the club is high.”
