Aston Villa captain Micah Richards was on hand to lead his team to a narrow 1-0 defeat versus Manchester United on Friday evening.
The 27-year-old had already proven himself as a calm and collected chief in the Villans' opening-day victory over Premier League new boys Bournemouth and he continued his fine form for Tim Sherwood's side against the Red Devils at Villa Park.
Signed on a free transfer from Manchester City in the current window, the Englishman is proving quite a coup for the Midlands outfit - perhaps even the club's best piece of business so far this summer.

Weighing in with an assured defensive display, the Englishman won five duels over possession of the ball, while being beaten on just two occasions.
Meanwhile, he made one block, three interceptions and won one tackle.
He also proved assured in possession for Villa, completing more passes than any of his teammates with a success rate of 83%.
The Villa captain was the pick of the defenders for the hosts, doing his utmost to limit United's chances, and he was ultimately unlucky not to be awarded a penalty in the first-half that could have seen his side draw level and change the outcome of the match.
