West Ham fans react on Twitter to Sam Allardyce's misguided comments

Allardyce deflated

The former West Ham boss has been compared to 'a crazy ex who still secretly loves' the club.

Sam Allardyce? Well, he's just a puzzle, isn't he?

You'd think the West Ham United boss was delighted to leave Upton Park without being sacked - despite winning just three of his last 21 Premier League games at the club.

But, no, the 60-year-old has chosen one of West Ham's finest moments in recent history after their 2-0 win at Arsenal to hit back at the club who, if we are being 100 per cent factual, decided not to extend the contract of an under-performing manager who had either taken an early holiday or simply lost his way completely halfway through the campaign.

Allardyce's achievements at West Ham were admirable in getting them to where they needed to go. But Big Sam's tendency to throw his hands up and call it a day once the Hammers were mathematically safe season after season meant the club needed a change.

That's not to mention the discontent among fans after some very clear favouritism with his team selection, an inability to blood the club's youth and an ultra-defensive approach time after time. How on Earth he could have come to the conclusion that West Ham were 'ungrateful,' then, many will never know.

And the Hammers faithful have duly reacted to his misguided comments on Twitter...
