Tim Sherwood raves about lastest recruit Adama Traore; explains what he offers the club

Aston Villa Sign

Tim Sherwood has spoken highly of 19-year-old Adam Traore following his arrival at Aston Villa.

Aston Villa have completed the signing of highly-rated Barcelona winger Adama Traore on a five-year deal.

The Spaniard's arrival from the Catalan giants has been met with huge excitement due to a genuine belief that, at just 19 years of age, the talented youngster is set to shine in the Premier League for the Villans.

Following his capture of Traore, Tim Sherwood was quick to explain what the winger is able to offer his new club, while confirming supporters' suggestions that the player will be a useful asset both for now and the future.

According to the Daily Star, the English manager said:

“I tried to see if it was possible to bring him to Tottenham when I was there. He is someone I have been tracking for a long time.

“He is a big powerful boy, a very quick, dynamic, maverick type of player. You never know what’s going to come out next.

“Those players are very few and far between. We are delighted he has chosen this club to continue his development.”

Traore has carved out a reputation as one of the most exciting young talents in Europe and he arrives at Villa Park with huge sense of expectation.

Schooled in the infamous La Masia academy, the Spaniard has drawn comparisons with Everton signing Gerard Deulofeu, though coaches at Barcelona believe he could have even greater potential due to his willingness to listen and learn.

Speaking of the 19-year-old's future prospects, Sherwood continued:

“He is not the finished article by any means. He is certainly a player who can help us out now, but for the long term future he is magnificent.

“He is very dynamic. He stays wide, picks the ball up runs at defenders and doesn’t give them a minute’s peace. I wouldn’t like to compare him to any other player, hopefully he’ll make his own name for himself and then others will want to be the new Adama Traore.”

Having made just four first-team appearances for Barcelona, Traore arrives at Villa Park a raw talent. However, Tim Sherwood - ever confident in his own ability as a manager - will be keen to ensure his 10th summer signing is a major success for the club.
