Report: Manchester United's Adnan Januzaj not against idea of Sunderland loan move

Adnan Januzaj (low qual)

The Manchester United star had looked as if he dismissed any notion of leaving the club this summer after reports linking him with a loan move to Sunderland.

Manchester United star Adnan Januzaj is not against a possible loan move to Sunderland despite appearing to laugh off rumours on Twitter, the Sunderland Echo reports.

The paper reports that Sunderland are still keen on landing the player who may have to leave Old Trafford for first team action if they manage to land Pedro from Barcelona, and that the Belgian is giving 'serious thought' over a potential move to the Stadium of Light.

It would certainly give the 20-year-old the opportunity of regular first team action in the Premier League after it was limited somewhat since the arrival of Louis van Gaal as successor to David Moyes at Old Trafford.

Under Moyes, and then Ryan Giggs towards the closing stages of the 2013/14 season, Januzaj made a total of 35 appearances for the United first team - and managed to score on five occasions.

Last season saw him appear in nine fewer Premier League games [18], with several of them from the substitutes bench while he also spent a bit more time playing for the under-21 side.

At Januzaj's age, combined with the talent he possesses, it's desirable for him to get as much first team action under his belt as possible in order to fulfil his potential.

Van Gaal expressed that the talented youngster wasn't for sale, but reading into his comments, there could still be the opportunity for a deal to be done for the player on a temporary basis.
