The BBC pundit has had his say on any potential move for the experienced striker.
And Hartson would be a fan of the east London club signing a forward with 'undoubted ability.'
Hartson wrote on Kicca: "Tottenham's Emmanuel Adebayor has undoubted ability. He's big, strong, mobile and on his day totally unplayable!
"The only concern is can he string ten games together and stay fit and hungry? I think he would be a great signing for West Ham if they get him going.. #COYI"
Many West Ham fans might disagree with Hartson at this moment in time as, even if the east London club require strength in depth, Adebayor's ability or willingness to deliver are well below the required standards at Upton Park based on last season.
Sam Allardyce also tried to sign the 31-year-old - and the former West Ham boss is public enemy number one right now, following his comments about how 'ungrateful' the Irons were towards him.
In short, it's a simplistic view from ex-Hammer Hartson. Adebayor had undoubted ability. And the only concern the pundit can think of is, in fact, the biggest concern when it comes to signing the striker. Based on his recent form, there is no evidence Adebayor has any of his old ability left...
