Former Liverpool goalkeeper Brad Jones is set to sign a short-term deal at Charlton as they look for cover for the injured Stephen Henderson, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Jones is a free agent after being released by Liverpool at the end of last season following five years at Anfield.
The Australian was largely back-up to Pepe Reina and Simon Mignolet during his time on Merseyside and made 27 appearances for the Reds in total.
Bristol City expressed an interest in signing Jones earlier this summer, but the 33-year-old rejected the overtures from the Championship new boys as he held out for interest from other clubs.
Charlton are looking for goalkeeping reinforcements with No.1 'keeper Henderson working his way back to fitness after shoulder surgery and they see Jones as an ideal addition to the squad.
Jones is currently training with Charlton and the club are set to offer the former Middlesbrough man a short-term deal at the Valley.
