HITC Sport understands Brighton and Hove Albion are closing in on Sheffield United winger Jamie Murphy.
Sheffield United's Jamie Murphy is on the verge of a move to Brighton Hove and Albion in a £2.5million deal, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
Brighton have been chasing Murphy all summer and have seen several bids for the highly-rated attacker rejected by United.
United have been reluctant to lose one of their prize assets, but it seems Brighton have now finally agreed a fee for the Scot.
Murphy impressed again for United last season with 12 goals and 12 assists and he is regarded as one of the best talents outside the top two divisions in England after catching the eye at Bramall Lane since his arrival from Motherwell in January 2013.
A number of other Championship clubs have shown an interest in Murphy, but Brighton are in pole position to bring the 25-year-old to the Amex Stadium
Brighton boss Chris Hughton has been searching for a new wide man all summer and it appears he is now poised to land his top target Murphy.
