Clearly delighted with the move, Aston Villa officially welcomed the arrival of Adama Traore on Friday, having reached an agreement with his former club, Barcelona.
Meanwhile, the Catalan giants have revealed the numbers behind the deal, which has seen the talented 19-year-old starlet head to Villa Park.
"FC Barcelona and Aston Villa FC have reached an agreement for the transfer of Adama Traore for 10 million euros plus two million more if certain conditions are met.
FC Barcelona reserves the right to buy back the player during the first three years of the player’s contract and also has the right of first refusal for any possible future transfer."
Reserving an option to buy the player back, or at least have first refusal on a future sale, is pretty standard practice for Barcelona, when it comes to the sale of young player.
In the case of Adama Traore, he was widely regarded as a player with a bright future at Barcelona, however, the relegation of the B team to the Spanish third-tier presented problems.
The exciting winger expressed a preference to leave in order to play top-flight football elsewhere, rather than drop to the Segunda B, which meant Barcelona reluctantly opened the door to offers.
