As reported by the Express and Star, Amalfitano could be heading away from West Ham this summer, with a move to West Brom or Aston Villa mooted.
Amalfitano, 30, has been outcast from West Ham’s senior squad by Slaven Bilic, and forced to train with the Under-21 side due to his attitude. It does not look like he will be rewarded a place in the Hammers’ Premier League squad, and a move away from the Boleyn Ground is now expected.
L'Equipe claim that Ligue 1 side Saint-Etienne want to bring him back to France, but the latest report claims that both West Brom and Aston Villa are making moves to sign the winger on a season-long loan.
Amalfitano has spent a spell at the Hawthorns already in his career, impressing during the 2013/14 campaign. However, as the season wore on, his form dropped and he returned to parent club Marseille with the Baggies not pursuing a permanent deal.
Yet he moved to the Hammers, and impressed under Sam Allardyce last term, before being cast out by Slaven Bilic.
There are no indications as to whether Bilic would sanction a move to a Premier League rival - with Saint-Etienne’s interest more likely to be pursued - but both Villa and the Baggies will be looking to move for the winger before the transfer window closes at the end of this month.
