Report: Norwich offer £4.5 million for prolific Italian Mattia Destro

Norwich have made an offer for Roma's Mattia Destro, suggests reports.

According to the Daily Mail, Norwich City have made a £4.5 million offer for Roma and Italy striker Mattia Destro.

The eight times capped international has fallen down the pecking order at the Serie A club with Edin Dzeko recently join from Manchester City on a season-long loan.

Having moved to Roma from Siena in 2012, Destro has gone on to score 29 goals in 68 appearances for the club, including 13 in 20 appearances throughout the 2013/14 season as he finished the campaign as top scorer.

He then netted five times in 16 appearances for the Serie A outfit in the first half of the 2014/15 campaignbefore joining AC Milan in January, for whom he scored three times, in 14 matches.

It is believed that, following his loan spell at the San Siro, he will now make a permanent move away from the club - and the Canaries are understandably interested in his services.

Destro's arrival could spell the end for Gary Hooper at Carrow Road, with reports from the Scunthorpe Telegraph suggesting that Middlesbrough are leading the race for his signature.
