The Australian went over the line, but is he worse or funnier than this lot?
There's nothing like a good insult to get in your opponents head and under their skin to give you an advantage, everyone does it!
While some sledges are pure comedy gold, some managed to take it way too far and end up crossing the line between '#bants' and just being rude.
And Australian tennis player and professional troll, Nick Kyrgios, definitely crossed the line when he made a pretty nasty remark about Stan Wawrinka's girlfriend.

This has got us thinking, which are the funniest and nastiest sledges made by sport stars... well, here are five of our favourites!
1. Glen McGrath gets shut down - Harsh
The Australian bowler was a true great, but he also had a bit of a gift for the gab except for when he tried to get under Zimbabwean Eddo Brandes' skin.
After frustrating McGrath, the Aussie harshly asked Brandes: “Why are you so fat?” to which the Zimbabwean brilliant and brutally responded: “Because every time I f**k your wife, she gives me a biscuit.”
2. Muhammed Ali, the greatest - Funny
Apart from being one, if not the greatest boxer of all time, Muhammed Ali was a true master of the microphone, especially when taking a dig at his opponent. Before his fight with Joe Frazier, commonly known as the Fight of the Century, Ali got right under Frazier's nose by saying: "Joe Frazier is so ugly that when he cries, the tears turn around and go down the back of his head.". The joke was on Ali, as Frazier managed to win with in 15 rounds in the first of their great battles.
3. Zlatan vs Guardiola - Funny
Zlatan Ibrahimovic might just be the most quotable footballer of all time, with his arrogance and wit coming through perfectly every time he opens his mouth. Throwback to when he was at Barcelona and had a bit of a falling out with Pep Guardiola... Zlatan wrote in his autobiography 'I Am Zlatan' : "Guardiola was staring at me and I lost it. I thought 'there is my enemy, scratching his bald head!'. I yelled to him: 'You have no balls!' and probably worse things than that."
4. David Beckham goes el loco! - Bit Harsh...
When golden balls went to Spain, everyone thought he would struggle with the Spanish language, however the then England captain showed he knew a few interesting phrases...
After a linesman had a right nightmare, Becks decided to call him “Hijo de puta” or a “son of a whore” to us English folk... He was instantly red carded!
5. Roy Keane vs Mick McCarthy - Funny
We all know Roy Keane has a short fuse and we all know Mick McCarthy isn't one to mince around his words, so when this pair fell out during the 2002 World Cup it went atomic!
Keane's outburst at McCarthy was pretty hilarious and a little bit harsh... "You were a crap player, you are a crap manager. The only reason I have any dealings with you is that somehow you are manager of my country and you’re not even Irish, you English ****. You can stick it up your bollocks.”
