Mizuho appoints new head of European flow derivatives

Mizuho International, the London based securities and investment banking arm of the Mizuho Financial Group has appointed Campbell Gilbert as Managing Director, Head of European Flow Derivatives.

Campbell began his career at Banker Trust New Zealand as an interest rates trader before moving to Deutsche Bank where he spent close on 17 years in a variety of trading roles. These roles included heading up the international USD trading desk in London as well as spending time in Tokyo trading USD interest-rate swaps and structured products. More recently Campbell was head of medium term EUR interest rate swap trading, head of G3 electronic IRS trading as well as co-head EEMA linear rates trading at Deutsche Bank.

Commenting on Campbell’s appointment Christian Heiberg, Head of Fixed Income Trading at Mizuho International said: 'We are delighted to have Campbell lead the development of our vanilla swaps trading desk. Campbell’s extensive experience and product knowledge will be critical as we enhance our established cash rates franchise with a multi-currency swaps offering in Europe'.

Campbell will be responsible for leading the development of the Mizuho International flow derivatives trading desk within Rates markets.
