Michael Owen believes Tottenham will have enough to see off the threat of Stoke City this weekend.
Tottenham Hotspur will beat Stoke City this weekend, former striker Michael Owen has predicted.
Writing in his betting column for Bet Victor, Owen believes Mauricio Pochettino's side will have enough to record a home win.
Both sides are looking for their first wins of the season after disappointing but narrow defeats.
Owen said: "The Potters did the double over Spurs last season but I thought the north London Club probably deserved a point at Old Trafford last weekend and are taken to make a winning start to their home campaign.
"Stoke huffed and puffed against Liverpool on Sunday but rarely looked like scoring and I can’t see past a home win."
Away side Stoke have shown their ambition in the transfer market this summer, underlined by the capture of Xherdan Shaqiri this week, but there is a very real possibility they begin the season with back to back losses.
White Hart Lane will hold no fear for them, but Spurs at the same time will be keen to show how they have improved since last season's loss.
They were arguably the better side against United, and could have that extra bit of motivation due to how unfortunate they were to come away with a loss.
