A selection of stories in the media involving Aston Villa in the last 24 hours.

Villa have submitted a £7 million offer for Lazio striker Keita Balde Diao, according to Football Italia.

News of their offer comes just days after the former Barcelona youngster was transfer listed, with the Italian club believed to be holding out for a fee of around £10.7 million before sanctioning the sale.

Another product of the Barcelona academy, Adama Traore, has completed his medical and will sign with the Villains today, as per the Daily Mail.

Villa have fought off competition from the likes of Liverpool and Stoke to secure the in-demand winger and an announcement of the £12 million deal is expected imminently.

The Nottingham Post claims defender Alex Lacovitti is on Villa’s radar this summer, with the club tracking the player for several months and hopeful a deal can get done before the window closes.

The central defender has impressed for the Forest youth team and has already represented Scotland’s Under-21 team despite being just 17-years old.

Meanwhile, Anderlecht winger Dennis Praet is not interested in a move to West Brom after watching their dismal defeat to Manchester City on Monday, according to Belgian outlet HLN.

The report claims that the attacking midfielder doesn’t view the Baggies as a good fit but also mentions that there have been no concrete offers from Villa in recent weeks.

Finally, the London Evening Standard report that Villa face competition from three Premier League clubs for Spurs winger Andros Townsend.

The report lists Sunderland, Newcastle and West Ham as the interested parties but suggests Spurs would prefer to avoid doing business with the Hammers.
