Report: QPR still want former Arsenal youngster Kyle Ebecilio, but Leroy Fer must move first

FC Twente

The Championship side are still looking to improve their squad.

QPR are interested in signing former Arsenal youngster Kyle Ebecilio from Dutch side FC Twente, and would have done by now if it were not for the fitness of a former Twente player.

It has been reported by Voetbal Primeur this week that Ebecilio is wanted at Loftus Road and a deal between the club and player had already been agreed.

However, while the deal was almost near completion, it needed QPR to get former FC Twente player and Dutch international Leroy Fer out of the door.

QPR need his wages off the bill as soon as possible but he has a lingering injury problem which saw him fail a medical with Sunderland last week, seeing a move to the Stadium of Light collapse at the last minute.

With that in mind QPR put a move for Ebecilo on hold and now the player is waiting for them to return, or to consider other offers. A move will only come off if somebody takes a risk on Fer's fitness.

Netherlands Under-21 international Ebecilio is a very similar player to Fer, a marauding box-to-box midfielder with plenty of power. He started his career at Feyenoord before spending three years in the Arsenal academy prior to returning to Holland with Twente.
