Tim Ream is closing on a move to QPR.
Queens Park Rangers are in pole position to sign United States international Tim Ream after agreeing a fee with Bolton for the defender, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.
QPR are keen to sign Ream as they are short of defensive options at centre back.
Chris Ramsey only has Nedum Onuoha and Clint Hill, and youngster Cole Kpekawa as his recognised centre-backs and he is desperate to resolve that issue before the close of the transfer window.
Fulham are also chasing Ream and Bolton have rejected opening bids from Fulham and QPR for the 27-year-old.
However, QPR have come back with a new improved bid and Bolton have reluctantly accepted the offer.
Ream, who joined Bolton in 2012 from New York Red Bulls, has won Bolton's Player of the Year award for each of the last two seasons.
