Lionel Messi full of praise for Barcelona team-mate Pedro

The Argentine star has stated that the winger ‘deserves it all’ and that he will understand if the attacker opts to leave Camp Nou.

Barcelona talisman Lionel Messi has singled out team-mate Pedro for praise, after the Spaniard scored the decisive goal in last night’s Uefa Super Cup final, as per Marca.

The Spain international netted the decisive goal in an enthralling game to see the reigning European champions win the tie in Dblisi 5-4.

Pedro has been linked with a move away from Camp Nou all summer, with Manchester United wanting to steal the La Masia youth product away from his boyhood club, as per The Guardian.

The sprightly attacker has been the main victim of the superlative strike trio of Luis Suarez, Neymar and Messi at Luis Enrique’s disposal, with the homegrown talent not receiving as much regular first-team football as he would wish for.

Messi has stated that he would understood if Pedro left the Catalan club and wished him well for the future.

"Pedro deserves it all,” Messi is quoted as saying by Marca.

“We don't know what he's going to do, but whatever happens we wish him well.”

Although not a guaranteed starter for the Blaugrana, Pedro is a popular member of the squad and has been a key part of Barcelona success since he broke into the first team back in 2008.

Messi is the current favourite to win this year’s Ballon d’Or accolade after a stunning last six months for Barcelona.
