Here is the side Paul Clement has selected for Derby County's game this evening.
Derby County: Grant, Forsyth, Dawkins, Hendrick, Bent, Russell, Baird (C), Shackell, Pearce, Weimann, Ssewankambo
Subs: Carson, Keogh, Martin, Ince, Hanson, Thorne, Warnock
Derby County manager Paul Clement will be keen for his side to secure an impressive win against Portsmouth this evening, after being held by Bolton in their opening Championship game of the new season.
Clement will be forced into making one change for the match following the injury to midfielder Will Hughes, which saw him have knee surgery earlier this week following the game.
The priority for the Rams this season is always going to be trying to get into the Premier League, but it’s important that the side try and go on a winning run in a domestic cup competition, which will give them momentum and provide the manager with a chance to rotate and give some fringe players a chance to succeed.
Hopefully the Rams can avoid the misfortune of several other Championship sides to have already exited the competition at the first hurdle and can carry a positive mentality into their game this weekend against Charlton, which represents a good chance to register three points.
