The attacking midfielder was secured in a big-money move from Hoffenheim this summer, with many anticipating that he could be a star player for the Reds this season.
Firmino has been brought in to help boost Liverpool’s goal tally after they struggled in that department last season, with him having enjoyed an impressive scoring record during his stint in Germany.
He has also impressed for Brazil when called upon, increasing expectation from the Anfield faithful even further, but Kaka has urged patience saying it will take time for the new boy to settle in the Premier League.
“The fans must give him time,” he told liverpoolfc.com.
"You must remember he is adjusting to a new league and that always takes time. Firmino will be a big player for Liverpool, too, and will have a good relationship on the field with Coutinho.”
The qualities are there but he may have to adapt
Firmino definitely boasts the ability to be a star for Liverpool in the future if he can replicate his Hoffenheim form in England.
The Premier League is an entirely different proposition to the Bundesliga, though, with it unlikely that he will enjoy the time and space that allowed him to attain such an impressive goal scoring record in Germany.
With that being the case, perhaps Firmino will attempt to change his style to adapt better to England’s top-flight.
Should he form a good relationship with Philippe Coutinho, though, while providing the ammunition for Christian Benteke up top, the potential is there for Liverpool to have a deadly front three this season.
