Aston Villa winger Jack Grealish has taken to Twitter to give a positive update following his recent injury.
The 19-year-old missed Villa’s opening Premier League game of the new season with a hamstring injury but he has since posted a picture of himself on social media with good news for the club’s fans.
“Happy to be back in training and working hard to get my match fitness back,” the Villa player wrote on Wednesday afternoon, posting an image of him relaxing in the training room after a tough session.
It remains to be seen if he will be fit enough to start Friday’s match against Manchester United at Villa Park, but a place on the bench is definitely an option, and given the sheer number of new faces at the club this summer Grealish will no doubt want to get down to business as soon as possible.
Villa started the new season with a 1-0 win away to newly-promoted Bournemouth but Friday’s game is a very different proposition and Tim Sherwood’s side will have to work extremely hard to overcome the recent hoodoo United have over them.
Whatever happens, expect Grealish to get some minutes on the pitch, and they could prove vital to the final score if he hits the ground running.
