Yannick Bolasie’s comments suggest his head has not been turned by Tottenham speculation

Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are reportedly interested in Crystal Palace winger Yannick Bolasie.

Yannick Bolasie is one of the best players in the current Crystal Palace squad and is of proven Premier League quality.

The DR Congo international winger was in very good form under manager Alan Pardew in the second half of last season and has been linked with a move away from the Eagles this summer.

According to The Daily Mail, top-four chasing Premier League duo Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are interested in signing Bolasie this month.

However, the 26-year-old winger’s comments about his future prior to last weekend’s round of matches in the Premier League suggest that his head has not been turned by all this speculation.

“I do my talking on the pitch, there are plenty of people who can do the talking off it - football is all I am thinking about," the former Bristol City man told Goal.com. "I understand that (contract talks with Palace) are ongoing, but my only concern is making the right start ahead of the new season.

"My only thoughts at this moment is winning at Norwich City - it sounds boring but in the Premier League you cannot afford to be looking ahead, every game is winnable but by the same token every game could end in defeat so you always have to be switched on."

Bolasie’s comments give a glimpse into his mindset amid speculation that he could leave Palace for one of the Premier League’s big boys.

Moving to Liverpool or Tottenham from Palace is a step up, but it seems that the highly-rated winger has not let the speculation turn his head.

The Palace star’s priority seems to be doing well for his current team and to win games, which shows that he is not going to force a move out of Selhurst Park anytime soon.

Palace did win against Norwich away from home at Carrow Road on Saturday afternoon, getting the better of their hosts 3-1.

Bolasie, though, did not start the encounter and came on as a substutite in the 72nd minute.
