Aston Villa transfer round-up: Dennis Praet still a target, Nicolai Boilesen linked

A selection of stories in the media involving Aston Villa in the last 24 hours...

Villa are still in the hunt for Anderlecht midfielder Dennis Praet, according to Het Nieuwsblad and

The Belgian club have reportedly lowered their asking price to £7 million, prompting Villa to re-enter the chase - with West Bromwich Albion also keen.

Ajax defender Nicolai Boilesen is another talent believed to be interesting Villa, as reported by Tuttomercatoweb.

The report claims Serie A side Genoa are looking to secure a deal for the 23-year old, who will cost around £2.5 million, but face competition from the Villans for his signature.

TalkSPORT have cited Spanish reports that claim Barcelona B player Adama Traore is close to completing a move to Villa.

The pacey winger had been linked with Liverpool and Stoke City but it appears as though Villa have won the race - the report even claiming that a three-year deal has been agreed.

One player who is unlikely to be moving to Villa Park, however, is Spurs winger Aaron Lennon, according to the Birmingham Mail.

The 28-year old was believed to be in talks over a £5 million switch, but the Mail claim Andros Townsend is Tim Sherwood’s preference and he will hold off on a deal for the former Everton loanee.

The same report also claims that Villa are interested in taking Manchester United striker James Wilson on loan before the close of the window.

Sherwood has stated his desire to bring in English players, but given United’s lack of options up top, it seems unlikely they will sanction a move for the striker.

Finally, Villa-linked Felipe Avenatti has stated that he would be open to a move abroad, should the right scenario present itself.

"And if there was a chance to improve going to play abroad, or in a higher category then I would take the chance, otherwise (I will) stay here without problems," he said, in quotes published by Tuttomercatoweb.
