Tottenham, West Brom, West Ham and Aston Villa all reportedly want to sign Breel Embolo this summer.
Embolo looks to be one of the most in demand young strikers in European football - with Tottenham, Aston Villa, West Ham and West Brom all interested in him - but a report in the Daily Mail suggests that he will not be heading to Spurs this summer.
It is claimed that the Lilywhites do not want to match the £14 million asking price on Emboli’s head, as they consider the fee too high for someone of Emboli’s age.
The FC Basel striker is still only 18-years-old, and although he is impressive, there are no guarantees as to whether he will continue to develop at his impressive rate.
The fee is a risk Mauricio Pochettino and Daniel Levy are not willing to take, and the report states that the club are preferring to focus all their attentions on Clinton N’Jie of Lyon, who is both older, and should be available for a cheaper price.
Despite Tottenham’s unwillingness to complete a deal for Embolo, there is no indication that the other Premier League teams interested in him are put off by the asking price.
The Mirror claimed yesterday that Aston Villa, West Ham and West Brom have also all been tracking the Swiss international striker, and the Mail report states that they are retaining an interest in his services.
The teenager is also wanted by the likes of Manchester United, Bayern Munich and Borussia Dortmund, and it remains to be seen which club is willing to pay the £14 million required to sign the incredibly promising teenager.
