A West Ham deal for Raul Jimenez is off.

Raul Jimenez has been pictured arriving in Portugal ahead of his imminent transfer to Benfica.

Portuguese newspaper O Jogo published photos of him after flying in from Spain, as he prepares to conclude a loan move from Atletico Madrid.

He had been due to join West Ham, with Slaven Bilic telling a press conference last week that Jimenez would be the club's last summer signing, as reported by Talksport.

The Hammer had put a lot of effort into a deal, winning a work permit hearing on appeal after seeing his original application refused.

He was due to arrive for a medical last Friday but missed his flight. The Sunday Times reported he told the club he had simply overslept, but he later denied this via Twitter.

What does appear clear is that his head was turned, with a deal to sign with Benfica now seemingly a formality.

O Jogo report Jimenez will undergo a medical and sign a contract on Tuesday morning.
