Nottingham Forest fans react on Twitter to Ben Hamer signing for Bristol City

After being announced as a Nottingham Forest signing, Ben Hamer has agreed to move to Bristol City.

It is just a fortnight ago that Ben Hamer was unveiled as a Nottingham Forest signing.

The club's website carried interviews with the goalkeeper after a season long loan was agreed, seemingly ending their summer long search for a competitor for Dorus De Vries.

This deal was short lived. e Leicester Mercury reported last week that Hamer had returned to Premier League side Leicester after the deal with Forest hit a glitch owing to the club's financial restrictions, due to Football League imposed transfer embargo, limiting the weekly wages they are permitted to offer.

Now newly promoted Bristol City have stepped in, announcing a deal this afternoon to sign 27-year-old Hamer on loan for the season.

It caps a rough month for Forest, with uncertainty surrounding key midfielders Henri Lansbury and Michail Antonio, despite the club's pledges to keep both.

The embargo continues and is a serious hindrance to manager Dougie Freedman, and they are still searching for a striker, with a trial for Nicky Maynard failing to pan out.

With a loss in their opening Championship game against Brighton, fans want improvement to their situation off the pitch, before more negative results follow on it.

Here is a look at what fans had to say as the Hamer deal collapsed...
