Newcastle United forward Ayoze Perez reached out to Barcelona hero Pedro after his goal in the UEFA Super Cup final.
The substitute hit an extra-time winner over Sevilla to earn a 5-4 victory, a fairytale script in what was potentially his final game for the club.
Perez posted a message of congratulations to Perez after the final whistle.
It may not be too long until the players come face to face.
Newcastle host Manchester United on August 22, and Pedro has been heavily linked with a move to the Red Devils.
Perez is a former Spanish under-21 international who is into his second season at Newcastle. He was an unused substitute in the Toon's opening game of the season, a 2-2 home draw with Ronald Koeman's Southampton.
