Manchester United transfer news: Biglia agrees terms for £17.6m move; Hernandez and Johnstone latest

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Manchester United

According to a report from LeSport10, Manchester United have made a £17.6million offer for Lazio midfielder Lucas Biglia.

The report claims the player has agreed personal terms on a four-year contract; but when you consider United have recently signed Bastian Schweinsteiger and Morgan Schneiderlin a move for yet another midfielder is somewhat surprising given their need to strengthen in other areas.

Biglia has played 64 matches for Lazio and previously turned out 287 times for Belgian club Anderlecht.

In other news, the London Evening Standard claims West Ham United are confident of signing either United striker Javier Hernandez or West Bromwich Albion’s Saido Berahino this month.

The Mexican international is now back at Old Trafford following his loan spell at Real Madrid and it would be hugely surprising if United sold him without signing a suitable replacement.

And finally, the Lancashire Telegraph reports that United goalkeeper Sam Johnstone is still keen on a loan move to Preston North End this season.

The young stopper was on the bench for United on Saturday with Sergio Romero starting and David de Gea dropped, but Johnstone has admitted that if he gets the chance to head back out on loan to the Championship side he would take it.
