The Norwegian talent is being tipped to excel at Celtic if he signs for Ronny Deila's side.
The 17-year-old attacking midfielder is said to be on Celtic’s radar with Ronny Deila reportedly watching the player in action at the weekend.
Ajer has only played 34 times for IK start to date but he has already scored 13 goals and provided five assists to date while he has also worn the captain's armband.
Norway are getting into the habit of producing wonderful teenage midfielders with Martin Odegaard seemingly having a rival for his title of next big thing, and Hoff for one feels that a move to Celtic could benefit the youngster, even if he does not want to see Ajer leave so soon.
“Ajer is undoubtedly the most talented player we have seen in this club for a very long time, and maybe also the most exciting talent in Norway at the moment,” Hoff told the Evening Times.
“I believe he could develop to his potential in a club like Celtic and grow into an asset for the club.”
Deila has impressed with his signings since arriving at Celtic, both permanent deals and loan moves, but if he can secure Ajer it may go down as his best piece of business regardless of how long he remains at the club.
