Report: West Ham-linked Gokhan Inler to decide on Leicester move in the next 48 hours

Leicester are believed to be in pole position despite an offer from the Hammers.

Switzerland international Gokhan Inler will decide on his future in the next 48 hours, according to the Daily Mail.

The 31-year old is available on a cut price £3.2 million deal and Leicester are believed to be closest to securing his services despite offers from West Ham United, Schalke and Besiktas.

Sportsmail claim a deal was agreed earlier this month but the Napoli midfielder needed convincing before deciding to join the Foxes, and is now 48 hours away from making a final call.

West Ham or Leicester?

The Hammers are in need of reinforcements in central midfield and have been linked to Joey Barton, by BBC Sport, and Lucas Leiva, by ESPN.

Meanwhile, Leicester’s capture of N’Golo Kante has somewhat eased their need for midfield options, but Inler’s arrival would be a boost nonetheless.

He possesses the necessary physical traits to be a success in the Premier League and has demonstrated undoubted quality on the ball during his time at Napoli.

At 31, however, he isn’t the youngest and any potential move would have little to no resale value for the buying club.

Despite that, Inler is a player who would add much needed experience and quality to either team’s midfield, and it remains to be seen which club he decides is the more appealing.
