Brentford in talks with Alan Judge over new deal

Brentford Griffin Park

HITC Sport understands Brentford are in talks with winger Alan Judge over a new deal at Griffin Park.

Brentford are aiming to secure the future of skilful wide man Alan Judge by offering him a new deal, HITC Sport understands from sources close to the club.

Judge has established himself as a key member of the Brentford side since joining the club on loan in the second half of the 2013-14 season before making the move permanent that summer.

The 26-year-old helped Brentford secure promotion to the Championship during his loan stint, scoring seven goals in 22 appearances and he was instrumental in Brentford reaching the play-off semi-finals last season.

Judge, who still has two years to run on his current deal, has attracted the interest of a number of clubs, but Brentford are keen to ward off potential suitors of the Irishman by offering him a contract extension.

Brentford's hierarchy are wary of seeing last season's squad being broken up following the departures of some key players this summer and new head coach Marinus Dijkhuizen is keen to keep hold of Judge.
