The 28-year-old defender has been linked with a move to the Baggies.
The report may well be another transfer-market falsity that doesn't end up moving any further forward. But, if it does, would it actually make perfect sense for both clubs?
Indeed, if West Brom are to make their interest in the centre-back concrete, it could give Tottenham the ideal chance to offload him. The Baggies have recently confirmed the signing of Jose Rondon and more recruits should be on their way. After their 3-0 defeat to Manchester City, whether Fazio is the right man or not, the need for strengthening is obvious.
But, after the summer signings of Kevin Wimmer and Toby Alderweireld, Fazio hasn't been mentioned at all when it comes to the Spurs' first team. And, if there's anything the north London side have done well this summer, it's move on those who had no chance of making the starting XI.
For the centre-back himself, to earn a Premier League move after some very questionable performances indeed at White Hart Lane would be a great outcome.
The 28-year-old simply isn't good enough to get much game time when he is up against Jan Vertonghen, Alderweireld, Wimmer and Eric Dier. And, though it may be a long shot, Tottenham could even use the Argentine when it comes to looking at West Brom's Saido Berahino....
