Steven Caldwell predicts West Ham’s season

West Ham Upton Park

West Ham United kicked off their 2015-16 Premier League campaign with a 2-0 away win against Arsenal.

Former Newcastle United and Sunderland defender Steven Caldwell has predicted on social networking site Twitter that West Ham United will finish in a European spot this season.

Caldwell made the prediction following West Ham’s 2-0 victory over Arsenal away from home in the Premier League on Sunday afternoon.

The Hammers surprised many observers with a strong performance against their London rivals at the Emirates Stadium.

Arsenal were expected to win the encounter in North London, but Slaven Bilic’s side had not read the script and deservedly picked up all three points.

Caldwell was following the game, and he was impressed with the performance produced by West Ham.

West Ham are aiming for a top-eight finish in the Premier League this season, and the away victory over Arsenal is certainly going to boost their chances of doing so.

The London outfit will face stiff competition from a number of other good teams, though, which means that they will have to be consistent throughout the season.
