Richard Keys explains how Sam Allardyce reacted to West Ham's Arsenal win

Sam Allardyce

The television presenter says the Hammers won the 'Big Sam way.'

Richard Keys believes West Ham United beat Arsenal the 'Big Sam way' on Sunday afternoon and says the former manager was delighted for the east London side after their 2-0 win at the Emirates Stadium, according to his blog.

Indeed, the TV presenter watched West Ham beat the Gunners comfortably alongside the Hammers' former boss Sam Allardyce and says he was 'very proud' of the victory.

Keys wrote: "Top marks Slaven Bilic. If anyone told you they saw a win for West Ham coming at Arsenal, they were lying. It wasn't a fluke though. It was thoroughly deserved - not quite done the 'West Ham way' - whatever that is - but Big Sam's way.

"I watched the game with the big man. He was delighted for his old team and very proud about the manner in which they went about the job."

Allardyce did mastermind some memorable wins during his West Ham reign, including a 3-0 triumph at Tottenham Hotspur and last season's over Manchester City.

There were more, of course, but Sunday's victory over Arsenal was all Bilic - and Julian Dicks, of course.

West Ham defended superbly but the creativity and force of Dimitri Payet was the biggest example of the post-Allardyce era really kicking off at Upton Park. Big Sam did try the same with Ravel Morrison but can you even imagine him in the same stadium as a player as creative as Payet?

The very same goes for Mauro Zarate. How could West Ham have won the 'Big Sam' way if the Argentine - who Allardyce didn't ever give a chance - scored their second goal?
