According to the Herald, Celtic have been scouting Ajer ahead of making a planned more for him, with Tottenham and Arsenal both interested.
The Bhoys had a scout in attendance when IK Start lost 5-1 to Bodo/Glimt earlier this month. Ajer set up the opening goal for Start, but could not prevent his relegation threatened side succumb to a humiliating victory.
PSG also sent a scout to watch the youngster, whilst an official from an unnamed Premier League side were also in attendance.
There is no reference as to which English club was scouting him, but the Herald report states that both Tottenham Hotspur and Arsenal have been tracking Ajer, making it likely that one of the North London duo were looking at him in closer detail.
Who is Kristoffer Ajer?
Ajer is a 17-year-old attacking midfielder from Norway. He is considered one of the brightest prospects in Norwegian football, having scored 13 goals and registered five assists in 34 games for Start - a poor team with little attacking strength.
He has been capped at every level for Norway from Under-15 to Under-17 level, and he is expected to make the step up to the senior side before too long.
With Ajer’s reputation set to keep growing, all three interested clubs will be looking to secure his signature whilst he is still a relative unknown, and Celtic boss Ronny Deila will be hoping to use his Norwegian connections to get the youngster to Parkhead before the transfer window closes.
