Report: Arsenal’s Damian Emiliano Martinez to join Wolves on loan

Arsenal goalkeeper Damian Emiliano Martinez is reportedly set to join Wolverhampton Wanderers on loan.

Wolverhampton Wanderers are set to sign Damian Emiliano Martinez on a season-long loan deal from Arsenal, according to The Sun.

It has been reported by the British tabloid that Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger set up the deal at the weekend.

The Sun has also claimed that the Frenchman is keep tabs on Wolves defender Dominic Iorfa and Kortney Hause.

Good move for Damian Emiliano Martinez?

Martinez is a highly-rated goalkeeper, but he is not going to get too many games for Arsenal this season.

Former Chelsea goalkeeper and summer signing Petr Cech is the undisputed number one at the Emirates, and is going to play regularly in the Premier League and in the Champions League.

David Ospina is the second-choice goalkeeper, and Martinez would be the number three.

It makes sense that Wenger reportedly wants the Argentine youngster to go out on loan to Wolves and get games.

Kenny Jackett’s side will be aiming for a top-six finish in the Championship this season, which means that Martinez will be in a very competitive environment.

The 22-year-old needs games at this stage of his career, and if he gets regular playing time at Wolves, then he should take the chance to join them on loan.
