Leeds midfielder Luke Murphy is back in action.

Luke Murphy has returned to action after a spell out with a knee injury.

He featured from the start for Leeds United's under-21 side at Elland Road against Ipswich Town, and played 60 minutes.

The midfielder was ruled out for a month to six weeks after picking up an injury in the first week of pre-season training.

His return is great news for the Whites, with midfielder Tommasso Bianchi subsequently ruled out for at least a couple of months with an injury of his own.

Tom Adeyemi has since been signed on loan from Cardiff City for the season, which eases any temptation Leeds may have to rush Murphy back into the side.

Head coach Uwe Rosler was pictured in the stands at Elland Road watching, and will be assessing whether Murphy is fit or sharp enough to even make the bench in their upcoming matches.

Leeds face Doncaster Rovers late this week in the Capital One Cup, and visit Reading at the weekend in the Championship.
