Some of Leeds United's first-team players will be involved for the under-21s tonight.
Leeds United’s senior side started their new campaign on Saturday with an exciting and encouraging 1-1 draw with Burnley, and now it is time for their under-21s to get in on the action.
Leeds’ official website has published some early team news ahead of the 7:00pm kick-off against Ipswich Town and one player’s inclusion in particular is sure to excite the club’s fans.
Luke Murphy has been injured recently but the 25-year-old is set to feature for the under-21s as he steps up his recovery and that is great news for Leeds manager Uwe Rosler.
Murphy returned from Achilles tendon problems last season to play a vital role under former manager Neil Redfearn, scoring three goals and providing one assist in the first six matches after his recovery.
Murphy ended the campaign with 32 appearances in all competitions and he looks set to play a big part again this season.
Other Leeds first-team players involved this evening are Casper Sloth and summer signing Lee Erwin, while youngster Kalvin Phillips is also included.
Leeds have a number of exciting young players coming through the ranks right now and they will be hoping to impress their new boss starting today.
