Mark Lawrenson has told BBC Radio 5 live that Liverpool youngster Jordon Ibe is developing faster than expected.
Ibe started the encounter at the Britannia Stadium and played for 78 minutes, helping the Reds win it 1-0.
Lawrenson was following the Premier League game, and he was raving about the young winger.
“Jordon Ibe is a very good player,” Lawrenson told BBC Radio 5 live. “Despite his lack of experience he's very mature.
“Ibe's a player who's really been exciting the Liverpool coaching staff - he's way ahead in his development."
The 19-year-old winger established himself in Brendan Rodgers’s side in the second half of last season following his return from a loan spell at Championship club Derby County.
The teenager did not score a goal in 12 Premier League appearances for the Reds, but he created six chances and had a pass accuracy of 87%.
Ibe’s performances on the wing have been truly brilliant, and there is yet more to come from the England Under-20 international attacker.
