Ogbonna made his Premier League debut for the Hammers away from home on Sunday afternoon, playing the entire 90 minutes against Arsenal.
The summer signing from Juventus played an important role in West Ham’s 2-0 victory over the Gunners, looking strong and dominant at the back.
Over the course of the 90 minutes at the Emirates Stadium in North London, West Ham had just 38% of the possession, took eight shots of which four were on target, and earned four corners.
Bennett, who is 19 years of age and can play as a winger as well as a forward, was following the game, and he was impressed with how Ogbonna played against Arsenal striker Olivier Giroud.
What a signing ogbonna has been for West Ham, he's had giroud in his pocket all game, not many defenders can do that!— Mason Bennett (@Masonbennett20) August 9, 2015
Over the course of the 90 minutes, Italy international centre-back Ogbonna had a pass accuracy of 74%, and won two headers and three tackles.
France international striker Giroud had a shot accuracy of 50% and a pass accuracy of 75%, and won four headers, two dribbles and one tackle.
