The Crystal Palace hero wants to reach double figures in goals this season.
Zaha netted four goals in 31 games following his return to Selhurst Park last summer, but he has told the Mail that he wants to reach double figures for goals this campaign.
The English winger said: “If I’m not getting goals or assists then what am I doing? I’ve told myself I have to get 10 goals.”
Zaha has already started on his attempts to reach 10 goals this season, having scored the opening goal of Palace’s 2015/16 campaign.
A looping cross from Jason Puncheon fell to Zaha in the box, and his jumping finish showed a poise and calmness in front of goal which he has often lacked.
His run was timed perfectly, and the goal showed that the young winger is developing his all round play.
This is promising for Palace fans, as Zaha is arguably the player with most potential in their side. He is still just 22-years-old, despite having 179 appearances to his name for the Eagles, and looks to now be growing into his talent.
Considering the signings made by Alan Pardew this summer - with Yohan Cabaye, Patrick Bamford and Bakary Sako able to play on the wings - Zaha’s place in the first team is not as secured as it was last season.
He needs to make sure he continues to improve if he wants to stay in the side, and netting 10 goals this season would show that progression is being made.
After his performance against Norwich, the youngster is certainly showing enough to suggest he can reach 10 goals this term, and it looks as if he could be a key figure for Palace this season.
