Burnley have won the race to land Shrewsbury starlet Josh Ginnelly, HITC Sport understands.

Ginnelly is out of contract with Shrewsbury having rejected personal terms with the League One side.

The 18-year-old midfielder is widely seen as a great talent for the future and will now look to test himself at a higher level.

Burnely had a bid rejected for him last week but now they have returned and agreed terms.

HITC Sport understands that Ginnelly is now due at Turf Moor to undergo a medical having finalised personal terms.

Ginnelly had attracted interest from a host of clubs from the Premier League and Championship as well as Scottish giants Rangers and Celtic, but it now seems that Burnley will be his next destination.

He developed in the Aston Villa youth system but was released and joined Shrewsbury on a scholarship programme back in 2013, going from strength to strength at the club.
