The right-back was in top form in the opening game of the season.
Sheffield Wednesday got their Championship campaign off to a flying start yesterday, beating newly promoted Bristol City 2-0.
The performance was superb considering the quality of the promoted opposition and Carlos Carvalhal would like to think he has put some doubter’s minds at ease ahead of the new campaign.
The Portuguese would also have been pleased with the performances of some of his new signings. Matias was in fine form throughout the game, as was Lucas Joao when he was introduced to the action.
Ross Wallace put in a good performance as well, but it was Jack Hunt who truly caught the eye.
The Crystal Palace man is on loan at Hillsborough for the season. He has previously spent time on loan in Yorkshire with Barnsley and Rotherham United – after coming through the ranks at Huddersfield Town.
Signed by Palace in 2013, he has not made an impact at Selhurst Park, however he looked like a top acquisition yesterday.
He powered forward at will from full-back and his crossing ability was on show throughout proceedings.
If he can continue playing like this, along with the rest of the team, than Sheffield Wednesday might surprise a few this campaign.
Hunt stood out for #swfc today, Mcgugan, Matias and Helan also did very well. Nuhiu did his job, and Wallace put in an excellent shift— Joel Pollard (@JoelPollardSWFC) August 8, 2015

Can see why the mad millers rated Jack Hunt so highly. Fantastic today, very positive going forward and not scared to take a man on. #SWFC— craig byron (@craigbyron) August 8, 2015
