Queens Park Rangers fans have taken to social networking site Twitter to give their reaction to the side’s defeat on Saturday afternoon.
Chris Ramsey’s team kicked off their 2015-16 Championship campaign with a 2-0 defeat to Charlton Athletic away from home.
Tony Watt put hosts Charlton in the lead in the 52nd minute, and Morgan Fox added a second at The Valley on 72 minutes.
Over the course of the 90 minutes, QPR fans had 52% of the possession, took 11 shots of which four were on target, and earned 11 corners.
Rangers are among the clubs expected to challenge for a top-six finish in the Championship this season, having suffered relegation from the Premier League at the end of the 2014-15 campaign.
The defeat will have come as a huge disappointment to QPR, as the Championship is very competitive and such losses could cost them a place in the playoffs.
Following the loss to Charlton, Rangers fans took to Twitter to have their say.
Below are some of the best comments:
We have Rob Green, Leroy Fer, Matt Philips and Charlie Austin in our squad, and we lose 2-0 to Charlton. Well done, Ramsey. #QPR— Stuart Hazeldine (@stuarthazeldine) August 8, 2015
People who thought we were going to humiliate Charlton because we've got Austin, Phillips blah blah... should watch football a bit more #QPR— Jules Toni (@COYRangers) August 8, 2015
As I said earlier, Charlton always seem to beat us. Welcome back to the Championship, and that was WITH Austin today #QPR— Luke Sheekey (@LukeSheekey) August 8, 2015
Dear oh dear. 2-0 down to Charlton & that's with Austin & Phillips smh. Looking like a long year if they leave. Day in the life of #QPR fan— Mr 13 (@firts) August 8, 2015
