Photos: Petr Cech looks sheepish after Arsenal disaster

The former Chelsea keeper did not have a great day at the office at The Emirates.

Arsenal have been tipped by many to be the dark horses for the Premier League title this season.

Today, that prediction is in tatters.

The Gunners were comfortably beaten 2-0 by West Ham United at The Emirates Stadium. The main reason for everyone’s renewed faith in Arsenal’s title hopes at fault.

Much has been made of Petr Cech’s arrival from Chelsea. Finally Arsenal have an experienced goalkeeper capable of saving the side 10 points a season.

Today, he cost them three.

He was at fault for the first goal, flying off his line, but beaten to it by Cheikhou Kouyate. The second one saw him beaten at his near post by a speculative effort from Mauro Zarate. Despite that, after the game, Cech was more than happy to wave at the fans with a sheepish grin, knowing his fault.

West Ham were obviously jubilant when scoring their goals, but the real star was Reece Oxford. The 16-year-old dominated the midfield and will not forget this performance in a hurry. The Hammers look like they have a stunning talent on their hands.
