Liverpool transfer news: Rafa Paez leaves permanently; West Brom want Jose Enrique on loan

A select round-up of the latest news relating to Liverpool

According to a report from the Daily Star, Liverpool left-back Jose Enrique is a loan target for West Bromwich Albion.

The Spaniard has made 96 appearances for the Reds but only nine of those came last season due in part to injuries and in part to the fact that he was simply not selected.

With Alberto Moreno and Joe Gomez now at the club, it would be no surprise to see Enrique move on in search of game-time, although with only one year left on his current contract Liverpool may prefer to sell him than see him leave on a free next summer.

In other news, the Daily Star also reports that young defender Rafa Paez has left Anfield permanently to sign for AD Alcorcon.

The 20-year-old centre-back spent the first half of last season on loan at Italian club Bologna, making eight appearances in the process. But after just 15 matches for Liverpool’s under-21s he has left Merseyside for good and it will be interesting to see how his career develops now he has a club he can call home…hopefully for the long term.
