Former Manchester City and Newcastle United midfielder Joey Barton has stated on social networking site Twitter that he hopes to be back playing next week.
The Englishman is without a club at the moment, having been released by Queens Park Rangers at the end last season following their relegation from the Premier League.
The 32-year-old was covering the Premier League game between Bournemouth and Aston Villa at the Vitality Stadium for BBC Radio on Saturday afternoon.
Barton was impressed with the football on show, and he seems determined to find himself a club by next weekend.
Thanks. Hopefully, back to playing next week. https://t.co/oYyuAQx7AA— Joseph Barton (@Joey7Barton) August 8, 2015

According to The Sun, Norwich City are interested in signing Barton on a free transfer this month.
It has been reported by the British tabloid that the newly-promoted Premier League outfit could make a move for the 32-year-old.
Barton, though, recently suggested on Twitter that he is not looking to join the West Yorkshire outfit, although he stated that he has been asked by many Leeds fans to do so (click here to read more).
