Manchester United winger Ashley Young has taken to social networking site Twitter to express his delight at signing a new contract with the club.
The England international will remain at United until at least June 2018 with an option to extend for a further year, as announced on the club's official website.
Young has been on the books of the Red Devils since 2011 and has established himself as an important player in the squad.
The former Aston Villa star played a major role in Louis van Gaal’s team last season, helping them return to the top four of the Premier League.
The 30-year-old scored two goals and created 34 chances in 26 Premier League appearances during the 2014-15 campaign.
Young had a pass accuracy of 81% and a shot accuracy of 47%, and won 17 headers, 38 dribbles and 31 tackles.
After signing the new contract, the United man took to Twitter to express his joy, with the club’s fans responding along with his former Villa teammate Barry Bannan, who is now on the books of Premier League rivals Crystal Palace.
